Where do you buy your ammo?

Just curious.

Do you buy it at a local store (that's only in your city like a mom & pop store deal)

Do you buy at a major chain (like Dick's)

Do you buy online (from a store)

Or, do you buy online from ebay (or the like)?

Usually online, but I'll hit up Wal-Mart when I don't have time to wait for delivery.

Depends...

For range plinking there is a local mom and pop that usually has prices <=online

For my defense ammo I use federal HST which I've only found one reliable source for... ammunitiontogo.com

There's a guy somewhat local that tends to have a good selection and nice prices. Good when you don't want to buy a whole crate of ammo. Otherwise online seems to be a good option.

What places online are good?

Oh, and what's a good/reasonable price on 9mm?

Walmart prices have gone up a bit in the last 2 years, but still the best price I can find. $9 for a box of 50 (federal or remmington) or $19 for Winchester White Box 100 rounds. Very hard to find in stock, you gotta talk to the sporting good guys and see when they expect a shipment, they limit you to 6 boxes but still sell out in 2-3 hours every time they put it on the shelf.

For .22 LR, I always go to Wal-Mart. For anything else, I either go to Academy or ableammo.com, depending on who has what. Academy has a great deal on cheap .308 FMJ ammo right now.

Usually at Dick's sporting goods, but haven't bought in a while since prices are so high.
Dick's used to have the best prices if you bought a case (10 boxes), they even beat out online stores from what I've seen.

Now I'm not so sure.

If I just want a box or 2 of something, I'll just go wherever is closest.

.22 ammo is best at wal-mart for their bulk packs.

.308 you say?? This stuff disappears quick or is really cheap berdan primed stuff (I like to reload). Thanks for the heads up!

9 mil ammo has been a bit hard to find in this area (Harrisburg PA) and when there is some the prices are a bit high. Luckely I have family and friends in Altoona PA. Most of the local shops up there have cases of it laying around at fairly good prices, average $11 per box of 50. So once every few months when I go to visit I pick up a case or two for myself and friends.

Gander Mountain or Cabelas usually for my .270 and .50 muzzleloader. Walmart for my .22 and 12 gauge. Ocassionally Dick's will have something good on sale.

I usually goto Walmart for ammo. $10.97/50 Federal Champion 9mm, $20.97 for 100 Winchester White box 9mm, $32.97/100 Winchester White box 45 auto.

Sometimes ammo is tough to find at walmart. If you need ammo soon, and ammoman.com doesn't have it, there is luckygunner.com, but they charge a lot more but have it in stock.

Local Chains usually. Sometimes CheaperThanDirt.

Also you can't buy ammo on ebay.
