Where do you all buy your camera gear from?

Mostly online - B&H, Adorama, Amazon.com. I am from LI, so I could go to B&H/Adorama B&M, but I'm not home enough and when I am, I don't necessarily want to spend the time going into NYC. I have also bought a few things from a local shop at home, Berger Brothers.

What happened to your D300 battery grip after the shower testing btw? Get it fixed yet?

Yup, got it fixed. $75. I'm going to improve it a little bit by sealing the screws with teflon tape since that is where the water got in in the first place. Resently got the 70-200mm and washed it off in the sink 🙂

why?

To see if it could take it. I also felt a very small amount of sand in the focus barrel ring and was turning it under the water to see if I could wash out any of the grit.

The AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 VR is a frickin tank. The college newspaper has two of them, and they've both been beat to sh*t, and both still perform 100%.
