Where do you all buy your camera gear from?

No specific reason but I exclusively buy from Amazon and BHPhoto. Neither has any great cashback though... but there never was a time when things went wrong with the either two, so I think I will continue on that route.... what about you all?

(Talking about authorized retailers selling brand new equipment).

B&H has been great for me.

I'm done with these places offering ridiculously low prices yet when you try to order it tells you to call because there is a problem with the order and you get a freaking used car salesman pitch of lies that the camera doesn't include batteries! ALWAYS check resellerratings.com and you will see the scammers are out in force.

I bought my body from Circuit City B&M - I had enough coupons and discounts to get it close to a good online price, and I had had to return my previous DSLR purchase due to a sensor with dead pixels. and felt more comfortable buying locally as a result.

Bought lenses from Adorama and accessories from Amazon.

Have no experiences with keh but hear decent examples.

Otherwise I get a lot of stuff from amazon, hvstar.net (hoya and b+w filters), and used stuff from fredmiranda and potn

B&H

Amazon

Adorama

J&R.com

Ebay (Cameta and other trusted sellers, although I have dealt with smaller sellers before w/o any problems)

Craigslist

Mostly B&H. The resulting large periodically upgraded catalog is a great addition to the BR LIbrary. 🙂

Doing it now.

What happened to your D300 battery grip after the shower testing btw? Get it fixed yet?

Yup, got it fixed. $75. I'm going to improve it a little bit by sealing the screws with teflon tape since that is where the water got in in the first place. Recently got the 70-200mm and washed it off in the sink 🙂

To see if it could take it. I also felt a very small amount of sand in the focus barrel ring and was turning it under the water to see if I could wash out any of the grit.
