Where do they find some of these people they put on Blind Date?

sure, they are all (wannabe) actors...don't you know that those shows are magnets for people who are trying to become famous???

Roger Lodge (host) claims that they try to make it very difficult for the "I wanna be famous" crowd to get on. They try for the "normal" people.

At least that's his position.

The people have to pass through several interviews to get on.

He (Roger) is friends with Jim Rome. Roger was on his show last week. One of Jim's producers is going to be on the show.

People in LA call up to qualify.

It's not scripted, but they'll shoot a couple takes of things they don't like... one of my friends was one it, and they didn't like the way he approached the door and greeted the girl, so they made him do it three times.

I thought about doing it for the helluvit... I just might do one of those Blind Date/Dismissed deals just to say I did. Plus, sometimes they pay for cool dates... and I think each person gets $100-250 or something to that effect. 😛

When they do "Blind date in San Antonio", they find them in San Antonio.

When they do "Blind date in Chicago", they find them in Chicago.

...

Did you know the have "Blind date uncensored" video tapes? I haven't seen them, but I hear they reveal secrets like why everyone drives a black truck, and how they interview the person who was dropped off at home after the date, even though we just saw that person walk into the house and close the door.

This is true.. I had a girl staying with me for a few months out here in LA.. She was from my hometown back in massachusetts, and for shits and giggles, she tried to get on.. She got called back and they wanted her on the show.. Unfortunatley, she never paid me the rent money she owed me (in cash or sexual favors), so I never gave her the message.. >🙂

The show that is scripted is that stupid Change of Heart.. I know people out here who are aspiring actors/actresses that have been called to go on that show..

I actually thought Change of Heart was scripted as well until some FOX rep asked my sister and some of her friends to go on the show. My sister declined the offer, but one of her friends ended up going on it with her boyfriend and man was it funny. I think that the only thing that was pre-determined was where the couples went for their dates. All of these dating shows (Elimidate, 5th Wheel, Blind Date, etc) are hilarious.....well, at least to me they are.

I think shipmates is by far the funniest. The worst of shipmates can get really really bad and extremely funny.
