Where do some people come up with names for their children?

I have the TV on for background noise and it's a game show. A contestant's name is "Shevette", pronounced just like "Chevette". Who names their kid after one of the crappiest cars ever built? Maybe when I have kids, I'll name my boy "Yugo".

I saw a name on a drivers' license when I was at work..I still remember it..heh -- Geneva Boozer Womeldorf. :Q

That doesn't beat the chinese couple years back that named their daughter Pay Ja May, spelled Pajama.

People like to get creative and want to be original. I say stick to the names that aren't too bizarre or your kid will hate you for life. ;)

There's a cheerleader for the Georgia Force Arena Football team whose name is Schwa (rhymes with Schwab). I crack up everytime they introduce her.

My favorite surname though is 'Glasscock'. Found it when I was interning as a programmer for a company that handled hospital accounts receivables.

Do you remember the term 'schwa' from elementary school? It was the name given to the upside-down 'e' in pronunciation guides.
