Where do I place the temperature probes?

I just purchased an Aerogate II, and I want to measure my GPU and CPU temperatures. Where exactly do I place the probe? It's a flat probe, so I figured I might be able to put it between the heatsink and CPU, but I don't want to crush it. Can I put it there? Also, I have a Zalman heatpipe video card heatsink. Could I put a probe between the heatsink and GPU for that?

Thanks for any info.

I dont mean to thread jack here, but i have probes in my case as well. I was wandering where on a hard drive you would put them to get a good reading?

Bottom of the HS, NOT in between the CPU and HS. Should have some type of tape or something to hold it on there.

^ and try to get it touching the cpu if you can.

Script..... not really sure, never wanted to do that...... I think I would find the hottest part on my hdd and place it there???

My Thermatake Volcano 9 came with a probe for the CPU. The instructions said to mount it on the underside of the CPU with the included tape. When you lower the ZIF lever to lock the CPU in place, apply pressure to the corners to keep the CPU level on the socket.

I realize it might be hard to put the probe under your Athlon 64 since it has smaller dimensions, but it doesn't hurt to try. Just don't get tape on the pins.
