With all these release, after release, after release announcements. It's gonna be Christmas before I get my PC 🙁. I understand this little wait for the smoke to settle for those just upgrading isn't so bad. But when your starting from scratch dying to get back into gaming, and Battlefield coming out shortly it's tough.

I've been trying to follow every thread on multiple threads (here is my favorite 🙂) for the latest news on these cards hoping it'll make my decision easier but it's just stressing me out lol. The 290 series cards are prolly gonna be my deciding factor on which way to go. I'd love to be able to get either a 290x/780 for > $600.

Whats the issue? Wait for 290x and if it's within your budget, buy it. Problem solved 😉

I already had a $700 Asus 780 priced in...I got the money all ready to spend just been waiting on this stupid price release, or if a major nvidia price drop. I don't have something to keep me occupied in the meantime 🙁

GTX 780 for $700 is probably a terrible choice.
And by probably I mean definitely.

I'd rather pick up Crossfire 7870s if I REALLY couldn't wait, for under $400 dollars (Titan level performance/Pick your Nvidia equivalent if you really want to). Then upgrade on the new process nodes in 2014.

That price was cdn $ also btw....I'm really trying to avoid the constant upgrade bug this time around. I wanna buy something that will perform like the 7870's do being a couple years old. I'm giving it till the first so I prey some kinda action happens before then.
