I'm going to change my middle name and would like to save myself a trip to Newark. I think there is a way to atleast get the forms online off some govt web page but I can't find it. a little help please.

You can try searching the New Jersey state web page here ... don't know if it will be on there or not though. A quick search did not reveal the forms you need though (but I did not spend a lot of time sifting through the results).

I don't think you can get these online, and if you do, it's kinda shady and requires a processing fee. There are organizations that make a business in mailing you government forms for a fee, even if they're free to get by calling a phone number or writing for them.

And I think you also have to file in person at your county seat (which is Newark, right?) so you'll have to make the trip anyway.

I'd be interested in changing mine. I like my first name (Jay), but my last name makes it so damn annoying to order pizza or make reservations. It's an americanized italian name...they can never spell it right, and even when it's spelled right, people can never pronounce it. Bah.

thanks guys

I 'm thinking of Edwyn as a midddle name. It has that old english charm to it and it doesn't really sound like a first name (so don't accuse me of having two first names).

I'm doing it because I want to use my first and middle name as a pen name when I finish my book and hopefully it will be good enough to get published. Also this will be the first really big decision I have ever been able to make on my own (I'm 21), and I didn't want to get a tatoo.
