Where did the term "Magic Brownies/Mushrooms" come from?

Not promoting drugs in any way here. Just curious where the two terms "Magic Brownies" (pot laced brownies) and "Magic Mushrooms" (natural narcotic mushrooms, sometimes refered to as "shrooms".) came from? I don't really see where the nickname corolates to the item in question. Mods, if this is out of line, my apologies and please lock. If not, can anyone answer this question?

Oh, so it's kind of a tongue in cheek name. Gotcha. Ah. That makes more sence now. :)

Psychedelic mushrooms were considered sacred "flesh of the gods" by the Aztecs and used by their priests in certain rituals. It's not too big a stretch to consider them "magic", especially if you've ever done mushrooms or any psychedelics. (raises hand)

Raises hand too. Many, many years ago of course. The term was used in the sixties so it probably came out of San Francisco or California somewhere.

Shrooms ain't a narcotic.

They probably wouldn't sell as well if they were called, say, "mucus mushrooms" or "butt-crack brownies".

Dude... You really have to be stupid not to understand why mind altering brownies and mushrooms are called magic. It's not "tongue in cheek". It's what they are called because they are "magical". They do "magical" things. I really hate to call people stupid but I make an exception today because you are probably too stupid to understand when I call you "stupid".

edible ganja is now banned from being sold in amsterdam.

No kidding? When did this go into effect? I take it that the hash shakes I used to order (Greenhouse Effect) are probably banned as well?
