Don't worry, you guys, I'm really tight with big Trinity in the sky. Paypal me $30 and I will get you into heaven, even if you don't believe. PM me for details.

Ok, I'm not a bible scholar.
From my rudimentary understanding of Christianity, you can only get to heaven by believing in Jesus.

So did everyone go to hell before Jesus?

To their respective Religions' heavens or Hells, check out Twain's story on the matter.

They argue in the church (probably depends on which institution one goes to) that there are plenty of scientists whom also are faithful in religion.

Belonging to a religion does not just automatically preclude someone from being a scientist, although one might expect that these differing mindsets would come to logical odds in a person devoted to both. I would not speculate on how they reconcile competing ways to interpret and learn about the universe.

If Jesus exists long after the death of his body, it follows that he exists independently of his body, and therefore probably existed before the birth of his body.

What and when then is before Jesus? As a part of the union of trinity, there is no before Jesus.

You guys forget that you can murder people but as long as you accept Jesus as your saviour and ask for forgiveness, you can go to heaven.

Just like, if you want a bike, you can't ask god for one and get one cus that's not how he works but you can steal one and ask for forgiveness.

I think regardless of your opinions on the subject, Crono is definitely well educated on the subject and deserves a little respect for sharing that as non condecendingly as possible. If you disagree thats fine, but I think some are being a little aggressive and disrespectful.

This,
I'm actually quite amazed there has been a cogent discussion with someone that is (at least seemingly) a biblical scholar.

Sadly I don't know enough about the topic to contribute.
