Where did the Abit KT-7 info go?

I'm pulling my freaking hair out!

There was a section on the KT-7 FAQ about what you need to pencil in on a newer Duron in order to boot on a KT-7 with an older BIOS, so you can flash the BIOS.

I can't find it anymore!!!!!

You know the problem! When the PC posts and then hangs after the memory count.

I'd throw in another CPU but I don't have one handy and I need to get this working.

HELLLLLLLP!!!!!!!!!

Its L7 bridge 4, don't count the DOT, only the bridges.

Its gone but they do tell you how to clean off the 'bruge' with a rubber, (Don't use for its real purpose afterwards) he he. Yes I know tha a Rubber is English for Erazor but the thought amuses me.

Jonny,

The Vids start at zero but its still the 4th bridge starting at 1. You are adding 0.2v to the default, should have explained better.

jonnyGURU,

Excerp from Paul's Unofficial Abit KT7/Raid Faq:

"Use an HB, B or 2B pencil to close the 4th L7 bridge (this is the 4th bridge out of 5 counting from the end nearest to the L7 title and dot) on the top of the CPU. This sets the voltage manually at 1.625v and allows the machine to boot. You can then flash to the later BIOS. (The graphite in the pencil is sufficient to make an electrical connection across the bridge). See Overclocking the Duron/Thunderbird for a detailed description of how these L7 bridges work so that you know what you are doing! This may void your warranty (if anyone notices)."

It's under the Boot section.
