Where did that garage door come from?

Well I bought a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire GT, and all is well. It drives great, shifts great, and has great gas mileage.
And for the first time since I have started driving, I have already managed to back into the garage door.
Not only is it considered a girl car, I believe it has instilled into me the driving ability of a female as well.
May'be the next time I get pulled over I can flirt my way out of a ticket?;):lips:

Not even a ding. It might have scratched the paint, if that. The door sustained no damage at all. My car bounced right off of it because it's a 5-speed, and I didn't give it much gas going in reverse and I had the clutch pushed down. Had it been my automatic Firebird, I would have torn the garage door off.

"What'd you do that for?"
"I didn't see it there."
"It's a four ton truck, Tyrone. It's not as though it's a packet of fvcking peanuts, is it?"
"It was a funny angle."
"It's behind you Tyrone. Whenever you reverse, things come from behind ya."

Put it to the boards next time and drive right through it...that is if your car has enough power ;)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - WHY DID YOU BUY IT?@?@?@?@ :(
Do you not like Sunfires?

I have to agree from your other Thread, it is better than a Firebird.

I do, though, find it interesting that you owned a CRX  I am looking for a decent CRX right now to turn into a possible project car :p What ever happened to yours?

Well see that is the deal with me. I buy older cars, I fix them up, I get bored with them, and then I repeat.
The CRX I had was a DX. Pretty slow, but I bought it with great ideas for the car. So I cleaned it up, did some mods, and fixed everything that was broken, and I soon found myself bored with it. So I sold it for much more than I bought it for, and I bought the Firebird. Then I fixed it up, got it painted, threw in some white leather seats, did some performance mods, and soon became bored with it.
Now I am tired of fixing things up. I wanted a nice and cheap econocar. Gas prices are too high right now to bother with a car that gets 10mpg.
There are no more horror stories with the Sunfire than there are with any other car really. People just seem to have a general dislike for them. Personally I think it's cute, and fun to drive. It handles well, and it gets good gas mileage.
Alot of people say the interior is lacking room, but I am a smaller guy, and I like smaller cars.
It also has the sport appearance package. A different front, rear, and sideskirts than the Sunfire base model. It looks much better.
It has 150 HP and 170 Torque. It has the Ecotec 2.4l Twin Cam engine, which is supposedly much more reliable.
The only thing I am worried about on the car is the timing belt. It's probably due for replacement.
