Where did Hitachi's 1 TB drive go?

I havent tried to find any of the Hitachi 1 TB drives anywhere but newegg, and i find it rather odd that i cant find it on Anandtech's real time pricing engine either....

I know its been a long night, but dang. am I totally missing it or is Hitachi having supply issues? I was able to order the drives not 4 or so days ago...

Meh

Newegg had it for a short time. I suppose there are enough out there with fat wallets and short pee-pees to keep these soaked up for a good while. Nobody needs one anyway when you can get two 500GB drives for half the money...

If you're limited by space in your drive bays or by available SATA connectors, you'd better believe that someone would want a 1TB drive. Plus, the huge cache on those drives makes them great performers.

It costs too damn much, granted, but there are people out there that might need Hitachi's 1TB drive.

If only those who really needed them would buy them, there would be plenty of resellers to buy from - most are being soaked up by the types I described. Senseless consumers...
