Where could I get energy efficient AM2 semprons in the US?

Hi,
I am trying to buy an energy efficient AM2 Sempron CPU in the US. The Sempron 64 3000+ , in particular. Its model number is SDD3000IAA3CN. Instead of the usual 62W thermal rating, it has 35W. I am having trouble finding any US online store that sells these. Any info would be helpful. Thanks a lot.

If your motherboard supports undervolting, then undervolt that to match the voltage of those other Semprons (IIRC 1.20v or 1.25v) and your CPU will have about the same thermal rating.

According to AMD, that part number is for a tray, but what you want the boxed version (PIB) which is SDD3000CNBOX. Still a very difficult to find cpu, but I did find one US site that lists it for $81.65.

Thanks a lot for the replies. Seeing that it is significantly more expensive than the regular version, I am now thinking of trying undervolting.

I have some more questions:
Do most motherboards support undervolting? Would the motherboard manufacturer list that kind of information? Thanks.

Every Skt 754 and 939 motherboard supports undervolting. They have to, don't you realize how Cool n Quiet functions? It works by underclocking and undervolting the cpu.

You'll need a program like RM Clock to allow you to be undervolted at load. Just make sure that cool 'n' quiet is still enabled for that program to work.
