Where could I find a Fan for my Northbrige on the A7V133?

WellI think the fan on the northbridge is dying. I tried to lube it up with 3-n-1 and it doesn't really seem to help. At first it began making a "whirring" noise only in the morning on a cold-boot. But now it will do it after only sitting for an hour or two.

Anyone have any suggestions where I could pick up a fan that would fit? Or would I have to give ASUS a call?

Hi, a couple of days ago I posted a thread about the same problem you are facing at [http://discuss.madonion.com/forum/s...;view=collapsed&sb=5&part=1&vc=1] which reads like this:
----------------------
Well this motherboard is indeed good, 3DMARK2001 score of 3750 with GF2U 1.2GHz/NO Overclocking whatsoever. But they are couple of nuisance that I have to say about this board, The fan (with a green MD sticker, not sure what brand) on top of the Northbridge processor (VT8363A) make so much more noise compared with the one on the CPU which in my case is an AVC http://www.avc.com.tw/showP.asp?PN=212AB1&Product=CPU Cooler.

Is there something wrong with this picture? I thought the CPU fan normally would be the one making more noise. I mean the Northbridge fan sound like it is vibrating wildly during initial POST and then it quiet down again, after a while it vibrate like crazy again. The noise it make as the result of this vibration is almost unbearable.

Is this normal? It is because that the motherboard increases the voltage or AMP to the fan causing it to increase in speed when temperature increases. When I hear the fan sounding like crazy, I stop it and release it again using a hand 🙂, the fan quiet down for a while just to make more noise later. It is pretty much a random event, So anyone else experiencing the same problem or know how to fix it please tell me how because I HATE THE DAMM NOISE! Does anyone know what RPM the Northbridge fan runs at?

Note:
1. This problem could very well occur on this board only because I got a crappy Northbridge fan?
2. This problem could occur on all A7V133 because Asus choose a crappy fan.
3. This problem or so it seems to me is normal (Northbridge fan noise > CPU fan noise ) ? Huh? If this is true I am going to kill myself 🙁

Solution That I have:
1. Return it to 100 (200MHz FSB) as I think it will not require the Northbridge fan to be on since most A7V don?t have a fan, performance will suffer which I HATE. oh well, for the welfare of this board I guess I have to sacrifice. I?m a poor man so replacement will be impossible at this time.
2. Get a better replacement for the Northbridge fan which sound more quiet. Does anyone even sell it, please tell me yes and show me the way (link).
3. Let it burn by unplugging the Northbridge fan power line and running it at 133 (266MHz FSB) and going on with life with a carefree syndrome 🙂 anyone doing this?

Well I guess the first solution would probably be the best with the second as a future thing, but if you have a better solution then post it here ASAP, I can?t live another day with this noise. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
----------------------

As you can see I?m very annoyed about the noise produce by the Northbridge fan. To temporarily fix the problem, I pull the plug off the north bridge fan power and took it off. Of cause for safety reason I switch from 133 FSB(266) to 100FSB(200). I have two questions I would like to ask, the first is whether or not your board is new? And the second is about the brand of you Northbridge fan. My NEW A7V133 came with a fan with green sticker with MO title on it|N4010S1 model number?|. The sound was not so loud at first, but after a couple of day, it became quite unbearable. Because of this I am trying to find a replacement now. Please tell me your side of the story regarding this.

Hey thanks all.

John- with that fan what do I do with it? I imagine I take the old fan off and have to use some Arctic Sliver Adhesive to glue this one on or what?
