What exactly is thermal glue and where can you buy it? Is it sold in stores like microelectronics or where can you order it online?

That the same as thermal grease/ If so then Radio Shack has some for around $2 that is good. If you want the good stuff the get something called arctic silver or something like that. Not sure where to get it though

Silicone rubber sealant. Sticks great, conducts heat as well as thermal paste does, withstands heat better than thermal epoxy.

One of the PC cooling web sites listed how well different materials conducted heat, and silicone rubber was as good as thermal paste, and both were much better than thermal tape (my video heatsink ran about 3 deg. F hotter after I switched from tape to silicone rubber).

And if you ever have to remove the heatsink, it's a lot easier to razor through rubber than epoxy.

Thanx everybody!

Now a couple more questions:

1)What's the plastic-like stuff on the back of some heatsinks? If it is thermal compound, is it any good or should I remove it before applying thermal epoxy?

2)Is it necessary or does it help a lot if you sandpaper both surfaces before applying the glue?

The reason is I just bought a second 7200RPM Quantum (LM 30 GB, it's great!) and my case suddenly became very hot with 2 Cel366@550, so hot that one of the celeries won't work above 523MHz, and that's pi$$ing me off. I was thinking about some other methods of cooling, and probably will try a project "SOLID STATE COOLING". Will require glue AND soldering. ;)
