Where can I purchase a pair of crutches locally?

I sprained my ankle playing basketball yesterday. It's a pretty severe sprain, as I seem to sprain it every 2-3 months for the same reason. I like to rebound so it gets pretty dangerous when I'm jumping around a lot for those loose balls. Sooner or later, it's pretty much guaranteed that I land awkwardly on another person's foot.

Anyways, do places like target or walmart sell crutches? Would a hospital sell me a pair without getting diagnosed first by a doctor? I've never used crutches before but I feel like they'd be really helpful in my current situation.

Thanks.

Check with a pharmacy. If they don't sell them themselves they'll be able to tell you where to go.

any drug store or walmart should have them
i have a pair if you want to drop by, i can lend them to you

some places used to "rent" them, they would ask for a $10 or $20 deposit which they would give back to you if you return them, not sure if that still happens. try osco or walgreens etc

I'd go to a hospital, but they will probably want to check you out first. Not a big deal in Canada (FREE LOL), but there probably the best place to get crutches.

Go to an emergency room (you have insurance?) get an x-ray. They'll give you a pair.
