Where can I learn more about speaking Elvish?

I got that book"The Languages of Tolkien's Middle-Earth" by Ruth Noel. Its a good book, has tons of infomation. I was wondering where I might go to lean more about speaking, witing and understanding elvish. Anyone know of some good websites or books?

Let the answers/flames begin!

You should look up that guy on here who wants a samurai sword so he can kill himself.
....oh and kill yourself.

From what I understand Tolkien elvish isn't good if you want to say...order a hamburger at a drive thru. It's not that comprehensive. 😛

Hmmm...where would a person go to engage in a lot of conversational Elvish?:Q😛

I dunno why this is a pet peeve of mine, but it is. I had a teacher who spoke FIVE languages! FIVE:
English, Hebrew, Klingon, Esperanto, Lojban.

The guy has the capacity to learn 5 languages, and he wastes it on fictional and/or unused languages :|

Why elvish? Why not turkish? Thai? Something you can use to communicate with other people?

well a friend of mine wants to learn too. She isnt that much into it as I am. As she has only read the books once, where as I have read them many many many times.

Learn Elvish? Whoa.... Now Hebrew I would like to learn. But Elvish? Jesus, think if you channeled that energy and focus into something USEFUL, like learning Oracle, or learning LAN networking. Get a degree. Put the time into reading repair manuals, you'll never go to the mechanic again.
Why do people waste time with such frivolous crap?

Wait....Whats ATOT..... Hmmmm....... 😕

It's a really easy language to learn, of course, providing that you know a little bit of Klingon, they are similar grammatically and in sentence structure.

Ok, OK, its been said in previous posts but WTF are you thinking? I like the movie, books, etc, just as much as the next guy but learning a fictional language is a little bit off the charts if you ask me. I am having visions of those geeks who dress in Klingon outfits and go to Star Trek conventions.....:Q

Your best bet, go down to your local comic book store, and ask the guys that are ready to kill each other over some rpg game that they have been playing for the past 2 weeks... I am sure that they will be more then glad to have a fresh face join them, or they may run and hide at the thought of human contact outside of their little group. I went in one once, and have been back since, made me realize just how much of a life I really have.

Hebrew? Hebrew isn't useful unless you happen to go to Israel, which is a rather small country, with very few people.

Or maybe you want to read old scriptures in their original language?
But there are actual people who speak it, for whom it is their native language. At least it's not a fake language invented by an author and taken way too far by devoted fans....
