I just received my CCW. (YEAH!)

it's the size of a buisness card, and feels like buisness card stock.
I want to protect it .

Where can i go to laminate this?

(and will be going to the gun range to rent guns to see which i like for my concealed weapon.)

I've seen things in the office supply section of places like Walmart that have some sort of card sized piece of lamination.

Double-check with the issuing agency.
Most issuing authorities say not to laminate the CCW, as it will 'alter' and void it.

My social security card says that right at the top. My parents had it laminated over 20 years ago. I've never had a problem and haven't had to get it replaced despite it being my wallet for every one of those years.

except a SS card isn't really used for anything...

a CCW is a licence to carry a concealed weapon.

If you get stopped.. and a cop sees your concealed weapon, and asks for a CCW licence... and it's laminated... it could void the CCW licence, and put you in a legal hole.

I've seen people with laminated social security cards in their wallet, and I've wondered about two things -
1. Why would someone laminate a card that says it should not be laminated?
2. Why would someone carry their social security card in their wallet?

My card was issued when it became necessary to have a SSN to claim children as dependents (sometime in the 80s), and it still looks brand new. It's sitting in my fire safe, because the only time I ever need it is when I'm changing jobs or getting a passport.

The downside to having your social security card is minimal. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of any law involving guns.

This is a good discussion then.
Cuz I live in Virginia and I wanna CCW one day. When I get it I will ask if it can be protected.
In the meantime I suggest you fabricate a little plastic sleeve and use that for temporary protection.

my sheriff's office laminated mine for a little extra cost.

you could always make a copy of it and keep the original in a safe place, unless they specifically state that you need to have the original on you.

I'm so glad my CCW came as a license type card. I would say try staples or Kinos as the rest of the people said. Public Libraries usually work if in a pinch or if you can't get it done at work.

You may get your CHP laminated at any office supply store or copy center. You can do it yourself with 3" wide, clear, packaging tape or contact paper.

What are you carrying? Have a decent holster? Do you have the holster broken-in? Do you have holder for an additional magazine?
