Where can I get those plastic clips for flat IDE cables?

Hi, Guys,

I'd like to pick up a few of those flat plastic clips that are used on flat IDE cables. You know, like when you fold the cable over & put the clip on in order to have less cable dangling all over the place.

Anyone know of a vendor that sells 'em? I was shopping for something else today at Newegg and ZZF and they don't seem to have them (at least not that I could find). So thought I'd ask here in the hopes of avoiding having to spend more time scouring the Web.

Any points in the right direction would be much appreciated.

PS: Before anyone asks, I don't wanna use rounded cables for this particular application. Thanks. :)

I like zip (cable) ties. Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart. Probably under two dollars for a decent number of them.

I prefer going to Dale's Hardware or Ace Hardware their customer service is top notch and they are ultra friendly. Usually you can find clips, faseners, etc for pretty cheap.

Thanks, guys. Those Fastex clips that Mr. Naked [comical user name, BTW  ] linked to earlier are the closest to what I was talking about. Although they're not exactly what I had in mind, they'd work.

What I have now actually is clips that look like a barette (spelling?) -- you know, those narrow clips that girls use in their hair? Except these are white plastic and they don't actually snap closed. They just fold over and hold the flat cable together.

I thought about those nylon zip ties too. Either those or the Fastex ones will work. Gracias, all.

Damn they are fast, I got mine today.
I only got 9, but I really cant complain.
They are a little narrow, but will do the job.

You can get little square pads with stickum on one side that work with zip ties to hold cables in place (the pads also have a hole for screw mounting). The ties go thru a fitting on the top of the pad in either of two directions. Use a pair of zip ties to manage flat IDE cable (in sort of a soixante-neuf arrangement ;) ). You can get the pads in packs of 20 at Radio Schlock.

www.cyberguys.com also have a lot of that type of stuff.

I use low temp hot glue a lot for flat cable organizing - between hanks to keep them together and between cable and case or other surface to hold in place. Peels right off if you need to relocate the cable and doesn't damage the insulation (unless you forget and use high-temp glue...

You could go into the dressing room of any apparel store and sneak a handful of those plastic garment/folding clips out.
