Where can i get short term auto insurance?

I'm looking to buy a car just to drive across the country, and was wondering if there are any insurance companies that sell coverage for just a couple of months, rather than the usual 6 month or 1 year periods. I know I could just get insurance and cancel after a month, but I'd rather not have to put that large first payment down and not wait to get my money back after canceling.

If they don't let you do monthly...

Every company I dealt with refunds the remaining portion if I cancel before the 6 mo. or year is up.

So you sign up, pay for it, drive where you gotta drive for however much time, cancel, and receive your refund.

you can get a normal term auto policy (6 mo. or a year) and can cancel anytime... sometimes with a minimum premuim due and then after the two months, you can cancel it. They HAVE to refund any unearned premium however.
