Where can I get redhat 9 cd image?

I went to the redhat website but they have the distribution in the directory tree format. I don't want to download a bunch of small files, in fact I don't even know if that'll work. Is there any place I can can grab the image, burn it to CD and be done with it?

Yes, if you want any of the default applications (desktop, editors, etc. etc. ) I have no idea which options you'd have to de-select to not require the other discs.

RedHat is discontinuing their RH ditribution. I recommend moving to something else.

Any suggestions?

Fedora is kind of the replacement. But no suggestions from me. I like several, and use even more.

Ok, let me tell you guys a reason why I'm installing linux and maybe you'll be able to give some ideas. Because of my position change I get to use AIX and Solaris a lot. I wanted to get more comfortable with Unix platforms by installing linux distro at home and using it once in a while.

well theres always FreeBSD for that unix command line feel that makes people feel all warm and squishy inside

Don't forget NetBSD, OpenBSD, DragonflyBSD, EkkoBSD, and of course Solaris x86 (which was previously SunOS (a BSD I believe) made my Sun Microsoft systems, founded by the Bill in BSD). 😉

The option to burn iso files is usually under File. It is typically labeled something like "Burn cd from image." I don't know why, but ez cd creator defaults to .cif or something, just change that to .iso to find your file.
