I eat TVP instead of chicken and beef, and I would like to get some of the powdered mixes (cheese, fiesta, stroganof (sp?) etc.) So I can add some rice or pasta and have a quick cheap meal. Any ideas where to get this?

McCormick makes packets for just those sorts of things. My mom has always used them to great affect. Check the aisle with the spices you should be able to find a few other brands too.

Do they have cheese powder we could put on our Kraft Macaroni and Cheese?

Gotta admit I've now spent almost ten minutes on various powdered cheese searches and am tempted to get some. What the hell I'd do with powdered cheese, I dunno, but...

Mix it with crushed pop rocks and you can make a delightful cheese bubble bath.

You can drink the soup after you're done

I was under the impression you were already well stocked with actual cheese.

I have plenty of cheese, bitch! Don't make me go all fondue on your ass! :|

I just don't have any powdered cheese and the idea intrigues me. I mean, look at this can o' cheese: http://store.honeyvillegrain.com/powderedcheesecan.aspx

It lasts for years! I can put it in my survival supplies. When the big earthquake finally hits I'll just be one happy fat dude, all spooning cheese into my big fat mouth while the neighbors starve and/or eat some flavorless gruel.

Just get the generics from your grocery store. McKormicks always seems pretty good though. I like their hollandaise, even though it's no where near as good as the real thing it's pretty good.

Some grocery stores sell this tasteless goo in the "bulk foods" section for the people who can't actually cook for themselves. :p

BTW, WTF is TVP? (turkey vagina, powdered?)

Fake meat, I'd guess.

And I'd buy 100 pounds worth of packets if Hamburger Helper would sell the seasoning for Rice Oriental.
