Lower is better...thanks.

also, while i'm here i might as well ask, what would be a good GPU recommended for this game?

30 bucks seems to be the lowest new. As for the GPU, what the hell, how about a 8800 GTX? If the GTX is out of your price range, try either the 8800 GT, the new 8800 GTS 512 MB, or one of those ATI Raden 3800's.

yeah, i guess my best bet would be to just upgrade all the way. its tough because i want to just get a new card, but i have an agp mobo. and even if i did switch to a new mobo, id have to get a new cpu, which would need ddr2 ram. ahh so if i originally wanted only a new gpu, id have to get a new mobo, new gpu, new cpu, and new memory.

Yeah you are in the same position as a lot were or still are. The AGP cards aren't that bad, but still have a premium price.

ATI X1950Pro is probably one of the better AGP cards, but I'm not sure how much of a price premium it has over the otherwise identical PCI-Ex version. I guess it depends how much you have to spend and how long you want it to last. Also, the HD2600Pro and XT aren't too bad and are cheap AGP cards. My roommate has a 2600Pro and plays Oblivion and it runs it a bit better than my 7800GT, probably since it is more shader intesive. I guess it depends how much details and what resolution you desire.

Amazon.com has used copies of (vanilla) Oblivion for $13.00 and up. The game of the year edition sells used for $35 and up.

Edit: You'll have to add shipping costs those prices.

The gold version should be less than $50 now. Buy Oblivion and all the expansions separate for about $75+.

GOTY editions ftw :). Granted, Morrowind GOTY was only $20, but Oblivion GOTY is still well worth the money, considering if you had bought all three games when they were first released, you probably would have forked over ~$100.

GOTY is just the expansions added, right? Not a huge deal, all they add is extra content, right?

I have a 6800GT so i dont know how well it'd run. Also, anyone know if i can get RTW or MTW2 for cheap? That'd be nice.

thanks guys!
