I'm not talking DDR3-1600 that's factory oc'd 1333 and tested to run at 1600 with an XMP profile. I'm right now using 16GB DDR3-1600 1.65V which is actually factory oc'd 1333 1.5V but tested to run at DDR3 1600 at 1.65V with it's XMP settings. It's not guaranteed to run at 1.5V at 1600MHz and I'm not going to risk running them at 1.5V at 1600MHz, so I run it at it's SPD setting of 1333 at 1.5V. Is there any genuine DDR3-1600 that does not use XMP at runs at 1.5V? I'm also looking for 32GB, yes I know 32GB is way overkill for gaming but if I'm going to replace my memory I might as will upgrade to 32GB if I can get some for a good price.

Almost all RAM is going to default to very conservative speeds for compatibility reasons. Even my Crucial Ballistix 1866@1.5v CAS9 RAM defaults to 1333 MHz. Just turn XMP on in BIOS and it will go to 1866MHz@1.5v with no problems. What you don't want is something that also raises voltage at the same time. That's fine, just find sticks that advertise themselves as 1600MHz@1.5v or less. Hell you can even be conservative and pick up some Samsung low-power sticks... 1600MHz@1.35v.

I'm using a set of Corsair Vengeance LP.
2x8GB DDR3-1600 at 1.5v as far as I can tell.

Ram is soo cheap now I cant blame people going to 32GB

But whats funny is you will never use even 8GB let alone the other sticks ....

For gaming 4GB 8GB max, If you do video editing or autocad, or studiomax or run a DAW then I understand the RAM needs, other then that save up and buy 16GB kit of 2400Mhz ......

Youll always have 8GB idle until Windows 10 comes out lol..........plus you can always upgrade later... gl

I'm thinking about buying the 1.5V version. 1.5V is also supported by the SB-E. However, they are both the same price and it's expensive for 32GB DDR3-1600. I just don't know if it's worth getting rid of my 16GB DDR3- 1600 1.65V Kingston Hyperx and buying 1.5V 32GB DDR3-1600 just so I can run at 1600 at 1.5V. Maybe I'll just buy the 16GB version of the Kingston HyperX DDR3-1600 1.5V. Also I recently saw listed some JEDEC spec'd DDR3-1600 at http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/valueram/desktop, however the latency is higher than the Hyperx series of DDR3-1600 and it's only a dual channel kit and I read from a couple of memory manufacturer's forums that it is better to buy 1 kit that combining 2 kits to assure better stability so I don't want to risk buying 2 of those 16GB kits and combining them for quad channel. Also would the memory chips for JEDEC spec'd DDR3-1600 be better quality than the memory that is not JEDEC spec'd 1600?

Why not just run it at 1600 1.5v? Its not like it will hurt the RAM.
