Where can i get free boxes?

actually, id liek to get boxes today to do early packing. anyone know of a place where i can do this? i know walmart has 2am deliveries... dont want to wait until then

I went to a mall and got tons of boxes out of their cardboard dumpster.

walmart restocks at 10pm every night so they get rid of boxes for you.

i collected those cardboard boxes to build a solid chair.

You can go to grocery stores early in the AM to catch some nice banana boxes before they throw them out. They're real sturdy and come with a lid for them.

you might try out behind a big-box book store. they get tons of decent-sized boxes all the time. i actually had a bunch i used for multiple moves, though i got them directly from someone who worked at one.

I always go to the local Giant Supermarket, because they have this area right by the front door where they always put boxes. If you ask nicely, they'll usually let you have some. Wal-Mart works too.

I'd recommend Craigslist or http://www.freecycle.org/ - I'd stay away from stores since there is a chance that the boxes could have bugs/rodent crap in em. (small but fairly common)

most of those are illegal to use other than mail purposes...

office supply stores have plenty in the dumpster... as well as partial five-fingered discounted boxes of pens, paper, inkjet cartridges etc...

IF they'll give 'em out. My store has banana box nazis (DSD and Drug/GM clerks) who use them for disco, product returns, etc so they hate giving them out.

Grocery stores are a great place to get boxes though

Liquor stores usually give away free boxes too.

Not that large usually, but strong since they're made to hold a few gallons of alcohol.
