Where can I get counter strike?

Where can I possibly get this game that I hear so much about. I would like to become addicted to this game as I have nothing better to do in life.

After you buy half-life, the mod is a free download here

If you have Half Life you can dl it for free, there is also a retail version you can buy, but they are the same game............I don't like it much, but I am certainly in the minority there....

Yep, pick up a Half-life CD (Can be had for $10-20) and then download the counter-strike files (about 100 mb). Version 1.3 of CS just came out so it might take a little time to get it. Counter-strike (and other "mods" like it) are free, making a small investment reap some addictive rewards.

I would say buy Half-life and not just the retail version of CS --> More options.

It would be a bit silly to get the stand-alone retail CS considering the MASSIVE amount of mods and addons for halflife - CS included.
