I would not bother, no one plays it anymore. There is like 10 servers total with North america. And of those that are populated play the same map over and over.

Are you talking about the original or do you mean the expansion to Bad Company 2?

I assume the headcase is talking about the original Battlefield Vietnam, and not the expansion to Bad Company 2.
You will have no problem finding a populated server for the Bad Company 2 Vietnam expansion. Just keep watching Steam or the EA store for a sale on it, they happen pretty regularly (you missed 60% off yesterday!). You just buy a code to register with EA, if you have Bad Company 2 loaded, Vietnam is already there waiting to be unlocked.

Yeah you just missed both a Steam sale and a D2D sale that had it for super cheap. But it's still not too expensive.

You do need to specify whether you mean Battlefield Vietnam or Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam.

Ah, in that case, there are plenty of people playing Vietnam for BC2. You could wait for it to go on sale, but even if you don't, $15 really isn't that bad of a deal. I bought it when it came out last December and I'd say it was worth it if you're into BC2.

No the Bad company 2 version. No one plays it. As i'm typing this i have a refreshed server list up with 11 servers..3 are populated with a total of 20 people between them.

Are you sure you have the latest patch? First time I ran Bad Company 2 I couldn't find any servers, then I realized that I had to update.

Also in BC2:V, the conquest maps tend to be more dead than rush ones. Might want to try rush if you can't find a conquest one.

Won't allow you to play otherwise :p

Oh. Yeah, I think in my case, my version was so old (downloaded from D2D so I got the 1.0 original release) that it wasn't even able to automatically check for updates on launch. Had to run BFBC2Updater.exe and then wait hours while it downloaded a several GB patch. Then I was fine.

Then again, I haven't played Vietnam (don't own it) so I don't even know if sparsely populated servers is the norm. I thought about getting it but most people say it's not as good as the regular game and I am still having fun without Vietnam, so I figured why bother.

I play BC2:Vietnam fairly regularly and With the search filter set to no full/no empty/no password and north America I get plenty of results. Definitely not hard to find a well populated server even nowadays. Definitely not as many as BC2 for sure, but still a good selection.

I like BC2:Vietnam. Limited weapons and perks due to leveling makes it feel more like a game of skill and less like a race to the top that BC2 is (Not that BC2 is somehow horrible unbalanced thanks to the leveling...).
