Where can I get another one of these?

I don't exactly have a shop to work in... I live in a small studio apartment. :\

I just want something that is almost exactly like what I have now. It's easier and will work better for me.

So do I. By choice. In the past six months I've built multiple projects that outclass an end table. If you really want to do it, space is not the issue. That said.

What you've got there would either be called an end table or chest of drawers as I am sure you have already gleaned from this thread. Even the beat up one you've got already is going to set you back at least $75. I would recommend you follow the advice of other posters and look for either a kitchen cart (if you're serious about cooking) or build a cheap table out of milk crates and plywood (if you're just making bacon) and get a cutting board for the top of it. A cutting board will set you back about $10-$20 at a discount retailer like homegoods or marshalls.

Hope that helps.

Good fuckety fuck.

It's a fucking chest of drawers, you moron.

How the hell do you survive in the day to day world? Do you just rely on the waitresses to tell you not to eat the cutlery and the apartment manager to tell you to stop licking the lead-based paint off the walls?

Oh wow.

Your ability to find whiny caveats astounds me.

You KNOW you're fucked when AC707 unloads on you...She's usually one of the nicest, most polite posters here.

I think what you're looking for is one of these?

Although, that's an overpriced piece of Ikea junk for that price..
Here's one for $229, looks a lot nicer:
http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/kitchen-cart-with-granite-insert

If you google for kitchen cart big lots, you can see the carts they had on black friday for about $150 (iirc.)

One other thing - on the right... that isn't a granite counter top, is it?! Those floors, granite counter top... does not compute.

No. It's linoleum. (I believe that is what it is called... It's the laminate type stuff)

Lino is the stuff they cover the floors with in cheap kitchens, so it may be that, but maybe is it formica?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formica_%28plastic%29
In common use, the term refers to the company's classic product, a heat-resistant, wipe-clean, plastic laminate of paper or fabric with melamine resin.

Formica-topped desks/cabinets/dressers:

Just so I am clear, because honestly, I don't think I understand...

You want a second unit with drawers to place into this tiny, cramped studio space solely in order to put a burner on it, itself solely to make bacon in a pan. Correct?

Question: why don't you just use item #2 to make bacon (or the full-sized equivalent, if such a thing exists in this mythical abode of yours)?

The full-sized equivalent does not exist.

And I didn't know you could cook bacon in an oven...? :\ I've never had it that way AFAIK.

It's a great way to cook a large amount of bacon. I believe many restaurants do it this way. Probably not so great for "bulk" bacon, though.

Woah woah waoh wait, so this is only to hold the hot plate?

Put the hot plate on top of the microwave.

Problem solved. Just move the knives beside the microwave.

Ok so it might be a little high, but should be manageable.

I need more storage and counter space. :/ I rather have a dedicated space.

Yes, bacon cooks quite well in an oven. Line a large pan with waxpaper, spread pieces of bacon out, put in oven, profit. In fact, back in high school when I worked in an institutional kitchen, they cooked all the bacon in an oven. The pieces came out nice and straight and done uniformly.

All you wanna do is cook bacon?

It's a high end oven. I got it because my apartment doesn't come with an oven and I plan on being here for 3-5 years altogether.

around here you can get a microwave at goodwill for ~$20, $10 at a garage sale.

put microwave on floor, put toaster oven on top of microwave, put hot plate on top of microwave, use cabinet for something else.
