Dell used to use Palo Alto ATCX case. I'm not quite sure with the newer case, Palo Alto may do it for Dell again.
The case I am referring to was back in Dell model Dimension XPS R400.

The newer case looks awesome, I wouldn't mind get one myself.

I think the new Dell cases are a pain to work with.

There are two buttons on the top and bottom of the case that you push to open the case. The mechanism seems flimsy. It just doesn't seem secure when you close the halves.

To open the case, you have to pickup and then lay the case down on its left side. Push the buttons and then you can "open the clamshell". The left side remains on the desk and the right side opens up 90'. Good visability of interior parts, but..

You need a lot more room to work on the innards of the case, as compared to a traditional case or even the previous Dell Optiplex cases where you just removed the side panel.

I do like Dell's use of drive rails and the fact that there are built-in holders for the unused drive rails.

(I still prefer the ease of access on a Mac G3/G4 tower)

My friend has one of these he might like to sell one of you guys. I think he's trying to register for the forums...

I don't know that the case is ATX standard, I think it's got some weird quirks (ie, the motherboard tray has these metal tabs that poke through the motherboard in certain places, but I guess they could be ground/cut off easily enough).

What are you guys looking to spend...depending, he may or may not bother with the shipping...

Yea, it looks cool. but I don't think they are easy to work with or to access the parts.

The sort of room you have to make everytime you open that sucker.....

but to each his own.
