I am pulling a 7800 GTX from a 2nd PC to make a dual video Card Dell XPS 600 system. The XPS 600 already comes with one 7800 GTX.

Where can I get an nVidia SLI Connector to connect the two cards? The part does not seem to be readily available.

Thanks.

The Dell XPS 600 does support SLI but I'm not sure what motherboard is used. If it didn't come with an SLI connector then you most likely have to order one from Dell. Not sure if a normal off the shelf SLI connector will work. Most SLI connectors are on a pcb, come with their motherboards and are built specifically for that motherboard. I'd get an aftermarket flexible SLI connector which means you have a little breathing room and don't need to worry about the exact distance between the two PCIe slots. There are some for sale on ebay.

D*mn, I thought those were universal. I just didn't want to deal with Dell for that little part.

Thanks for help anyway.

Well...a SLI mobo with a single slot in between the two PCIe video slots should work using an SLI connector from any company that uses a similar configuration. And a SLI connector built for a mobo that has the two PCIe slots next to each other should work with any other mobo that uses a similar configuration. After all, the positions of the slots have to correspond with ATX specifications so you can access them in standard ATX cases. I do think that a flexible SLI bridge is a much better implementation than the ones using a rigid pcb for various reasons. The flexible bridge I linked to from Monarch Computer should work as I'm sure they designed it with headroom to spare. If you're not sure, measure the distance between the two PCIe slots in your mobo and give Monarch a call/email to see how long the flexible SLI bridge they sell is.

Somebody on a Dell board pointed to this part from Monarch and explicitely stated that it works. I also found a Dell part number for the bridge. I will give both places a call tomorrow to see which one is cheaper or can be shipped faster.

Thanks everybody for help. I ended up ordering the full kit from Dell (7800GTX + bridge) for $390, part #TD789. The bridge alone is $10.95 (part # ND756). The bridge seems to work on all cards (6800s and 7800s). You have to call Dell Spare Parts number here.
