There is something wrong with my CD. It's in the drive, and shows up in Explorer, but when i try to launch the game, it tells me the CD isn't in the drive. I want to get myself a no-CD patch so that i can play the game on Bnet. Would someone mind telling me where i can get one?

no, and dont ask again. I dont trust those on the net when it comes to these kind of issues. Fix your drive.

A LOT of people had this problem with the implementation of 1.05 patch casue they added/updated SecuROM.

i think i read somewhere that they checked for that somehow or something and people were being banned on bnet because of it ( in addition to the maphackers) i could be WAY off though.

Gamefix

a NOcd exe can be found here though.

I will ask until i find what i seek, because i paid for the game and i want to play it. Your mistrust is irrelevant.

it most likely isnt a problem with his drive, like i said in my other post a lot of people with LEGITIMATE copies of the game have been having this problem.

If you find the CD annoying, just download a program like Daemon, where it emulates the CD on your harddrive. Bad thing though is that you need to keep the CD image on your harddrive. But with everyone owning at least 100GB, i dont think that would be too much of a problem.

just patched mine and it worked, I did keep my warcraft 3 cd in very good condition. I am going to download that no-cd patch cause I hate swapping cd's.

There is no way to tell if you are using that noCD patch for good or evil. While you may be telling the truth, you may also be lying and anandtech could be sued for promoting pirated games. That's why talk like this is not allowed, even if you seriously bought the game. I feel your pain and would be mad if I bought a game and it stopped working, but don't ask a question like this ever again in these forums.

Furthermore, this is usually the consequence of the copy protection. So using a crack or evading it in other ways is the only approach to get it working.
