Where can I get a universal external battery?

I remember seeing a product that was essentially a battery that could charge/power electronics via USB or AC adapter, it had it's own AC adapter to charge the battery. I saw it online somewhere, but I don't remember its name. Do you guy know of any such products?

I have a device similar to this: http://www.shop.com/op/~PPC_Techs_AT_T_...01-prod-37855050-50402745?sourceid=298

But instead of USB it has a connector that works with my Creative Zen Vision W (wish I knew the USB version existed, that would work for my Vision as well - although I'm not sure if it would play while being charged like my current one allows... but I digress). It takes 4 AA batteries. I think it's the greatest thing in the world, because with some NiMh batteries my Vision's battery life is extended from 6 hours to virtually unlimited.

Interesting, where did you get the one that has the connector for your Zen Vision W? I'm actually about a few days away from buying the ZVW (after i sell my current PMP).

Hmm, Is that USB thing actually supposed to power your computer? I was gonna suggest a UPS, but they are 10 times as expensive.

(that's the item I bought and the store I bought it from)

They have other accessories too - I was actually looking for a travel charger for on a plane when I found that, which served my purpose perfectly.

I spent a lot of time debating over different ways to accomplish what I was looking for - 12+ hours of video to watch on a plane. I looked at portable DVD players, a PSP, and finally settled on the Zen Vision W. Portable DVD players use too much juice, and you're limited to DVDs obviously. A set of AAs might get you through one movie. The PSP would be good because it's also a video game player, but I already have a DS and I don't feel like acquiring a collection of ANOTHER type of flash memory. A decent amount of memory would also be expensive. I settled on the Vision W and I'm incredibly happy I did. The screen is great. My father-in-law has an old Vision, and the view angle was terrible. The screen on the Vision can be viewed from ANY angle - 180 degrees, no change in color. It's a great little player.

No... it powers anything that can be powered/charged via USB 🙂

Thanks for letting me know, I might just go for that instead of a universal battery charger/adapter. mainly because it's so cheap and they have good credentials (ebay, BBB). The most important thing that I would want charged would be the PMP anyway for a trip I'm going on.

That's probably a good idea. I can't say for sure that the USB charger would actually let you watch videos when it's charging. When you have it hooked up to your PC you can't watch videos. I know you can watch videos while it's charging through the ipod-like slot though.
