I'm behind a school network so there's a firewall or something that doesn't let uploading therefore doesn't let me log in to my msn messenger account and hotmail. I would really like to check my e-mail at hotmail. is there any program or site that will let me bypass the firewall and go to the sites? thank you!

This isn't something you should be asking here. Bypassing security devices is a no-no, and in some cases can be a felony.

You should bring up this topic with the admin of the network, and ask them why you cannot access hotmail. They may have a very good reason for it.

and who knows, they may grant access to you so you CAN check mail

of course, if its at school....they probably wont, since thats not why school has computers.

hotmail should not be blocked. try yahoomail, and if it does not work, you have a legitimate beef with how the system is working. Ask nicely about it though, sysadmins are not to be trifled with;)

well this is getting ridiculous, I can't even log into my College Board account. :|

this never happened until saturday... the admin probably did something wrong. usually I can connect and log into everything.

Sounds like another reason to talk to them about it.

"hotmail should not be blocked."

Ya think? Trojans, worms and the like can come with hotmail attachments just as they can other email clients. Users can't be trusted to make those judgements. IMO anyway. We block all webmail activity for this reason as we spent far too many weekends at work repairing the damage from viruses coming in this way.

It sounds more like they shutdown your account for trying to use banned applications, sites, or content. Maybe the first few tries to "get around" the security were monitored and acted upon.

Maybe you don't get network access back until next year.

Lots of maybes ....

What does your terms of service statement say will happen if you abuse the system?

Good Luck

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Is there any thing in the Bill of Rights about ?Absolute freedom of using and abusing computer?s system that does not belong to you??

Leave this thread alone even negative attention is ?Attention?.
