ALSO I TRIED TO DOWNLOAD DIRECTLY FORM REDHAT, MANDRAKE, AND TUCOWS AND ALL OF THEM WERE SO SLOW I HAD TO QUIT BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO WAIT 25 hours.
I need a fast speedy download of any good distro of linux

about 6 months ago there was a post on this forum to receive 3 copys of linux disks in the mail. Im still waiting for them! Was that a scam just to spam us?

get download accelator, it will give you multiple threads off multiple FTPs for maximum speed and efficiency, works quite well, i get 450 kbps constant off 4 different threads and i downloaded both CDs of redhat pretty fast...

You can buy a distro from cheapbytes, they are pretty cheap and will sell you even burned copies of beta releases.

Did you try a mirror near you of the distros? Downloading from the main site is often slow. Try downloading from a big site or a university.

You can try to install debian too, install the minimal system and then download your way to a complete system.
