Logitech MX700's are wireless but are spose to be REALLY good mice for gaming. If you still don't want wireless the MX500's are the same but corded.

I relize wireless is a little more expensive but it isn't even close to 90 so I figureedI throw it in. Most likely ou can find it for $40 or so.

I don't have experience with the logitech mx's but my experience with any other wireless mouse, and I think the general sentiment, is that their tracking sucks. the signal gets constantly botched, so it's jerky and erratic and very inprecise

This is very true with OTHER mice but from what I know if the MX700's that problem is non existent.

I've had my MX700 for over a year now and it's still going strong... I love that mouse. I never have any problems in games, and the DPI is ridiculously good. I'd recommend it (or get the Wireless MX Duo, keyboard too).

I noe it may sound dated (I read this off a really old magainze like 4 years now) but I've heard of a mouse called the "razor boomslang". supposed to be uberleet high DPI. Not sure how current mouses are compared to it, so i'd wait for some ATers to toss in an opinion before taking what i say for more than a grain of salt

MX300 is also a nice cheap high dpi optical mouse :)

I have the MX300. It is indeed good and CHEAP. I got it for ~$13 :)

had a mx300, now have a mx500. like it. especially the fact that it has more buttons which you can assign to whatever you want.

tracking is excellent....however the general rule for optical mice applies:

some pads can cause tracking problems...

eg. the cheapest standard mousepad i found is better than several other fancy pads i had....dont use pads with reflective surfaces/fabrics...
