Wow... that's not good. Do you have a link or any further info?

The VF-700 can't keep a x1800xt cool enough, I doubt it can cool a x1900xt sufficiently.

That one lone thread proved nothing other than supposition.
Bottom line is I wouldn`t want to over clock very much using the zalman vf-700 anyways.

Anybody whose into over clocking anything knows that the VF-700 was never meants for extreme over clocking of the video card.

once again the thread actually proves nothing!!

ive never been impressed with the zalman flower style fansink, they were always mediocre when i used them. im really not shocked that a 1900xt would overheat that relatively small heatsink, its even alot smaller than the stock 1900 hs.

Mediocre? The VF-700 is the 2nd best performing HS/F you can get for you GPU. Only the Thermalright V-1 marginally beats it and at a much higher price.

Actually it proves quite a bit. The VF-700 isn't able to handle ultra-high-end cards like the x1900XTX in its silent mode. If you read the thread it's more then one user's experience; there are several there all posting similar results.

Having said that I think the VF-700 is the best solution next to the Thermalright V-1. To me the easiest fix would be to have the VF-700 run off of the GPU's fan header so it is able to dynamically control its speed. That way users would have low noise at idle while still having enough performance to deal with the high heat loads cards like the x1900XTX generate.

All valid and very good points!:)
