Where can I find some old reliable 12x CDrom for dirt cheap?

Everywhere I look I see CDroms for $50 and UP only.. That's ridiculous, they've been around for so long and now there's DVD, you can get a really good and fast DVD for $130CDN.. Why would anyone pay $50 for a slow old cdrom? Anyway.. the only reason I want another cdrom is because my current 10x is really faulty and I want to have a good working cdrom when I get my computer back up.

So any place I can possibly get some old 12x, that works WELL, for dirt cheap?
 
did you try the FS/FT forum? i'm sure a great deal of people have a bunch lying around that they'd let go for next to nothing 😉

and i know what you mean, the prices for hardware up here are awful. it's cheaper usually to buy from the states and pay the exchange rate :| i got my Creative 52x for $59cnd which was the cheapest i could find. my new machine cost me $1400 without the moniter :|

look around for a local used computer parts shop, i got one in a townnot to far from me that would have tons of them. You wouldn't believe what they can charge for old ram now cause nobody makes it anymore

oh and yeah old ram is insanely expensive...

But I don't see any stores selling old cdroms dammit 🙁
 
actuall ram seems to be the only thing cheaper in canada(from what i've seen at least) than it is in the states 😕
 
Did you do a "search" on the Hot Deals Forum? Not FS/Trade. There are always good deals going on.
 
nearly all of the Hot Deals are for people in the US though, us canadians get stuck in the cold 😛 (no pun intended 😉)
