im lookin for just the enclosure thats relatively value priced and can hold maybe up to 2 or 4 sata or ide drives for expansion that is preferably gigabit ready... if not oh well...

the buffalo terrabit NAS looks awesome, but i do not want to buy their .6 tb, 1 tb drives

edit:
just the enclosure itself ...no drives so I can put it my own whenever i want to expand.

What kind of price range are you looking at?
as cheap as possible..... maybe no more than $100-150?

i have an external usb2 enclosure... but i dont have a lot of power sockets to plug everything in to....

i checked out the manual... at least this prod. doesn't force you to use a blank drive, but if u stick a ntfs drive, it will only read, not write to it.
