Anyone know where I can find something that is pretty user friendly and free?

The one I currently use is PhotSuite and the Image Editing features suck on this one.

I'm not sure about the free part, but JASC (the makers of Paint Shop Pro) allow you to download a trial version of Paint Shop Pro. It has been a long time since I used the trial version though, and I forget what features (if any) were disabled and how long you could use it for. The JASC website.

PaintShopPro's demo is full (no limitations), but it stops working after about 30 days. It costs ~$100 from JASC and is definitely worth it -- lots of features and it can get very advanced, although it doesn't quite get to photoshop's level.

For some reason Jasc loves us and makes the demo run after the 30 days if you just set your clock back. I have the full version though, it's a very good program.
