It's like 6 bucks for a decent sized bottle - are you that cheap?

Costco will sell you 1.5 or 2 liters, but it's like $18. I checked myself once

also, don't use it for heavy frying as you won't taste the difference and olive oil has low burn point.

if you just use it for light saute, sauces, and salad dressing, it should last a while.

The stuff from spain that is made from assorted evoo is pretty cheap, but you might as well get regular olive oil if your getting that. Bertucci evoo is like$5-6 for 10-14oz., while Carapelli is like $7-9 for 17oz. Those are both big manufacturers that don't prouce quite the same taste as the little guys.

If the olive oil you're using is $6 a bottle, don't ever cook for anyone. That crap isn't olive oil; it's Quaker State.

just spend the money on the good stuff, it's well worth it especially if you're gonna use it for sauteing or salad dressings.. and if you use it for only that, a good bottle will last you a good long time

I kept switching back and forth (expensive or cheap didn't matter) until I found a nice small bottle that had a spout at the top that I liked, then got one of those economy sized bottles of the good oil that I liked and would just refill the small bottle.

There's like 50 different EVOO's at the grocery store, imported and not, they all look the same. Some of the imported ones have fancy bottles with green tint to make it look darker than it is, and some of the cheap brands do the same. If I compared the sources/ingredients there wasn't much difference so I went with the one that came in a plastic bottle for safety reasons. I think it' sthe Bertucci brand one.

Anyway, what's a 'good' one that isn't insanely priced, I'm not going to find out anytime soon buying them one bottle at a time and using them for x months until I run out. :p
