I was wondering if anyone could tell me or link me to the DVI-D cable that comes with the 2005FPW? I look for cables on Dell's site and only can find the DVI-I cable which will not fit my 2005FPW.

Thanks for the help

Yeah it should be in the box. If you want another one, any DVI-I cable will work fine, and honestly the DVI cables Dell supplies with their monitors are a little thin - you should be able to get a thicker/better quality one for around $10.

It's not a dell specific cable either...

I've looked around and it looks like dell gets it's cables from cablestogo.com. I believe I've found the cable that dell uses with their mnitors.

Why is it so important to you? Why not just use a better quality DVI cable than the bundled one?

I'd have to agree with jiffylube1024 here. I own a Dell 2004FPW myself but if it ever goes bad (unlikely), I'm just going to get a cable with better shielding.

Not really looking for an expensive cable. The ones at cablestogo seem ok, but if there are some better ones for a better price, please let me know. I have no ties to the dell cables, just familiar with them and they are not all the expensive as others I've seen. However, if there are better ones, then I will go with them. I'll be connecting this from my HTPC GigiByte 6600GT to my Mitshubishi 65313. I used the dell DVI that came with my monitor to test the connection first and everything is working ok, so I figured why not get the same cable I tested with. But if a cable is a cable, and at a better price, I won't mind going with another one.

a 'better' dvi cable? has monster cable gotten to you? this isn't like an analog connection which is subject to all sorts of mess. if the cable is built to spec it'll be fine. there was a test on an av forum between an expensive cable and a coat hanger for a digital connection and they performed exactly the same.

Eh, no, not better as in monster cable. Monster cables are probably the biggest ripoffs in audio video history. Just something that's a little thicker as far as shielding goes. I have too many wires running back and forth in my place. Always the chance of interference (which I've noticed on my analogue CRT).
