Where can I find Computer screws?!?!?!?!

Ryan

I need some to mount a hard drive, cd-rom, floppy, and some PCI cards. Where do you buy these/Get them? I have tried lowes, compusa, and home depot.

Ace's Hardware local computer store has them, but they cost a lot.. Much cheaper if you buy from a local computer-building store.

I tried the solutions above, & never found exactly what I was looking for. Just scour eBay untill someone puts up another "300 assorted case & drive screws" or something 🙂

http://www.cyberguys.com/ has standard computer screws with pictures and info.

Also.. if you know what the specific dimensions of the screws are, www.smallparts.com has lots of screws.

I've bought nickel plated brass-thumbscrews from them (25 for $14.17) and nylon thumbscrews (25 for $3.04).
The brass ones are high quality thumbscrews and work ok for the case, but they are a little too long (3/8 inch) to use on powersupplies and drives.
(The nylon ones work, but they will lose their threading after several dozen uses--not recommended)

Or you can drill the case, weld in a HD grade 5 nut, then use a HD Grade 8 bolt - weld some type of handle on it - or heck, use 1/4 fasteners or dzus fasterners if you can mate them onto the case 🙂

Bring some automotive racing fastener tech into the computer 😉 Cheaper and more HD.

Actually that's what I did for my Eagle case.

A lot of cheap made-in-China bungs fell off, others had the threads torn right out (CHEAP POS DESIGN) so I drilled them out, got a nut and stud to do the dirty work.
