I got the Prime Perphicial 50X CD-ROM from office max when it was free after rebate(still have not recieved rebate). Well after a while of not getting the rebate I was going to bring to box to office max to see what was up. Left the CR-ROM at home. Well I made a stop at the grocery store on my way and like an idiot left my car unlocked. Some Idiot stole ONLY the box with the drivers and sound wire(thinks thats the right name). Now I have a CD-ROM with no rebate(but is being processed), no drivers or sound wire. I looked at the Afreey web site and could not find the drivers. As for the sound wire the only one the Compusa guy showed me was $24.95. Any suggestion or links to where I can find the driver would be great.

P.S. the reason that I am only now asking for help now is that I baught the CD-ROM before I got the computer parts to build my computer, because it was free. Only when I braught all the part to my friend to build did he tell me I was missing parts.

You don't need drivers for it. Windows will see it automatically.

and DON'T buy a $24.95 audio cable. CompUSA is not only raping you once but about 10 times with a price like that. Any local computer shop would sell you for $1 or $2 bucks.

You may not need that sound cable if you plan on running win2k. If you enable digital audio in device manager, you won't even have to hook it up.

Its pretty funny he stole JUST the box and the drivers. I bet the theif was a little upset when he got home. He'll prolly stick a brick in the box, and sell it on ebay as a NIB CDROM Drive

The sound wires go for $3 or less on ebay. DON'T pay $24.95 for one. Heck if I can find one around here I'd give it to you for the price of a Stamp.
