Hey! I'm googling and binging to find a sample letter to for an invitation to a guest and to the US embassy of the invitee's country. Is there anyone here who can make my job easier? :sneaky:

So far all I'm getting is college provided samples for students to invite their relatives or parents to the graduation.

What I want to do is write a letter on our center's behalf to the guest and to the embassy.

Do you mean like inviting a guest speaker?

I am not an expert but...

I believe that you would just need to write a letter to the guest, laying out the details of the event, date/time/etc. Then they would take that letter to the Embassy to obtain a visa.

I know you need to be careful about paying for their expenses and or paying them a fee. That would determine what visa they would need to obtain. So I assume it would be best to include that in your official invitation letter.

Here's a template I found online from Virginia Tech. (I have no affiliation with VT) http://www.iss.vt.edu/index.php/vt-department-host/visitor-b-visa-waiver/invitation-letter-template

Their International Visitor Guidelines might have some helpful info too: http://www.iss.vt.edu/index.php/vt-...sa-waiver/international-visitor-guidelines#t4
