occasionally this fan for my motherboard would go dead, so im looking for a new one... i dont really know what kind of fan it is, so here's a pic:

I'm doubtful that you'll be able to just get the fan. It'd be easier for you to just pick up a northbridge/southbridge cooling kit like the Thermaltake Extreme Chipset Cooler and use that instead.

Dude, just lubricate it, then put it on a fan controller to slow it down.

That orb-type Abit NB fansink is actually better than almost all of the aftermarket NB heatsinks out there because it's quite hefty.

Peel back the sticker to expose the hub, drop a bit of 3-in-1 oil in there, restick the sticker, rescrew the fan onto the HS, then connect it through a Zalman Fanmate and run it at a slower speed. Voila.
