i am looking for an upgrade for my 2.4b

i want to use 1066 rdram (side note would ddr2 be a better upgrade path?)

intergrated audio, modem, lan, usb are ok but not necessary

are these my only choices (overclocking)
and where can i find user reviews?

there's a good article at tom's hardware: http://www17.tomshardware.com/mainboard/02q2/020624/index.html

it has those motherboards you listed plus the intel motherboard.
personally I'd recommend the Gigabyte. It has good features (6 PCI slots!), and a good price.
The Asus P4T533-C is fairly good too.
the P4T533 is cool for the 32-bit ram, but 32-bit ram is hard to find, and not that much better right now
If you're not looking to overclock and want very good stabilty and support, the Intel is a good choice

thanks snowie for the link

i am planning to overclock and was looking at the asus p4t533 but have heard some rumors about problems
iwill boards are also seemingly with problems and gigabyte boards(older had a reboot bug)
so i was hoping to hear responses on what boards don't have problems.

the abit board i am running has problems but only with the 533 fsb lol

after reading tom's article

the only motherboard that supports the 32bit modules is the asus p4t533 per here:
even though the Taiwanese manufacturer integrates support for 32-bit Rambus technology. This allows the Asus board to run using a single module, while the other boards only work with pairs of 16-bit modules

so this again narrows the field to asus if i want 32 bit modules?aren't 32 bit modules better in overclocking?

also the gigabyte GA-8IHXP is the top dog any users here that would like to give a run down

and p4t533 users too please

thanks
mike

Honestly, the P4T533 does have problems. My 1.8A isn't stable at 133mhz, but rock solid at 134.. The higest I've achieved at 1.6v was 147FSB stable. That's x4, not 3. There's a huge thread (over 68 pages from my last count) at the Hard forums on this board.

In the end though.. it's nice once you work out it's quirks. That being said.. I still might RMA mine if I can when/if the Epox board based on the 850e with the 32bit support comes out.
