I am looking for a step by step guide for configing a win server 2003. preferable a domain and file server but if i have to i can just use workgroup for now. thanks in advance!

Win 2003 server practically is a guide in itself...

Its setup to be easy to setup.

Out of interest how much did you pay for your copy?

Thanks
Dan

i bought it from directdeals.com, they seem to have fairly good prices at least they are better than retail! Do you know of a better/cheaper software vendor? I am always buying software for the comps i build!

So there are no tutorials on creating a domain and stuff with 2k3? I want to give the user of this server instructions where even if they never used a computer before they could config this sucker, anything with plain english out there?

Check support.microsoft.com

A Good Book is a Must !

W2K3 is easy to setup , but when things don't work you gotta have good reference handy

I personally bought the one by William Stanek by Microsoft Press; however there are a number of good ones and of course Microsoft's website 😉

I do recomend however that you dont rely on the wizards within the OS and microsoft's KB alone or you will get into trouble down the road. Invest your time to understanding how things like AD, DNS, Group Policy, etc. work now, it will save you much grief in the future.
