Where can I find a DIY kit to make a robotic hand?

Well, I'm studying computer engineering but I also really love Robotics and Electronics, even if I'm just a really new beginner.
I really learn things by doing projects, so I'm really interesting in making my own robotic hand (that can move electrically, buttons, sensors, etc.) before deciding to really go into this section also. (That's how I went to programming, by doing a CMS in php, it was very hard even if some people can do it in 3-4 hours, I was with 0 knowledge).

I have found a few things, but wow, this category is really expensive. My budget is around $120.00 for this project.

I have seen some amazing robotic hands, that I wish I could do in the future, such as:

Tried looking there, but I'm not sure if I was just looking at the right category.

But prices were over $300.00, or maybe this is the usual price for Robotics.
 
120$ isn't enough for a robotic hand imho.
Even with lego mindstorms you're gonna spend more to make 4 wheeled robots with sensors.

this one is fairly straightforward - for each finger the microcontroller senses the amount of flex in a sensor ( resistive flex sensor ) fed into its A/D then generates a proportional or some adjusted output to a little servo that pulls a wire connected to the tip. the fingers could be as simple as pieces of cable loom. if you have the tools available to you that thing probably cost <$150.

I have tried looking for a teacher or someone who can help me here in Panama, but seems that noone likes or studies Robotics and Electronics. So I decided to get someone online.

Can you help me to do it via Instant messaging or something and I pay you in an hourly basis or something?

I'm actually reading "Robot Building for Beginners by David Cook" , If you have a better book, you can suggest me.

I'd also try getting good at MATLAB if you are serious about robotics. It may not help you build the robot hand, but you can apply a lot of (if not all) aspects of Control Theory to robotics which will help you in the future.
 
You will not find a kit to do what you want. Instead you are going to have to be creative and look at what you have available around you and adapt that to do what you need. Start by learning some basic mechanics and how to make things move. Anyone can follow a recipe but it takes a chef to create one that is great.

One place to start is with some very very old drawings.
Leonardo da Vinci is someone who pioneered robotics long before anyone else had ever conceived of them . You can learn a lot about how to manipulate objects with little to work with by studying his drawings. Also look at the work of Nikola Tesla, he pioneered quite a few motor and control systems .

The thing I like about reading work by these early people is they didn't try to complicate what they were doing. They kept everything on a basic level rather than trying to show how brilliant they were like many researchers do now.
