Where can I download something to scan my PC for trojan horses and such?

I think most of the free ones went under. I'm pretty sure that Norton Antivirus has out a trial edition though that works for like a month before timing out. If it's an urgent issue then grab though. If you're looking for a more long term solution then go to www.moochers.com (lots of free software) and see if you can find something (or go ahead and purchase Norton, which is IMHO the best out there anyways and well worth the cost).

Also look for a program called "Adaware" and while you're at it, get yourself a firewall program to see what your apps are communicating with/from your machine.

Just make sure you get something from a big named site. Stay away from warez and anything you arent familiar with. Linky

If you just need something to check your system now, use Housecall but remember that it only scans your system when you ask it to. Plus it's all done via the web so it will always have the latest def's. But if you need a solution that scans your system and protects it just download the trial version of Norton A/V 2002.
